About

Laura is a holistic nutritionist, wellness consultant, & health coach based in Pittsburgh, PA. She has always had an interest in helping others, and grew to have a love and passion for nutrition coupled with mind-body balance. Whole Rooted Wellness bloomed and took root with Laura’s lifelong love of health and wellness. Giving consideration to various challenges of today’s fast paced world, Laura implements a mindful, balanced, and personalized approach to best support families and individuals in their wellness goals.

Laura has been incorporating natural remedies since childhood. Now, as a mother of two, her family’s wellness is a top priority, encompassing spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Laura is passionate about nutritional science and natural alternatives for wellness. She is always reading and giving practical application to the latest research, allowing her to provide individualized resources and tools to recommend to her clients. Coordination of care and patient advocacy is also an important part of her role.

Laura’s Background

Laura obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a focus on counseling and business management, from Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA, and then began working with special needs children, implementing behavior modification. In seeing the vital role nutrition played in mood and behavior, Laura encouraged families to prioritize healthy eating, providing optimal nutrients to the mind and body.

In the years leading up to her nutritional consulting business, with her passion in helping others through a holistic approach, she went on to receive her certification as a Holistic Nutritionist from the American Fitness Professionals and Associates (AFPA). Laura maintains her certification through AFPA, and obtains knowledge from other wellness experts, keeping up to date with the latest research in clinical nutrition. In working with clients of all backgrounds & demographics, Laura sees what has worked best in terms of motivating positive behavioral change, to support customizable, & sustainable wellness.

Through a whole person approach, Laura gives consideration to the dimensions of wellness, addressing the root cause of illness. Simple meal planning, incorporation of wholesome nourishing foods, daily movement, meaningful connection, supplementation, and therapeutic grade essential oils are some of the ways she encourages the body’s innate ability to naturally heal itself, giving priority to individualized care and support.

Laura’s love of mothering, homemaking, and wellness

Laura loves spending time with her two children, husband, and their pup, Oakley. She also enjoys entertaining friends and family in their home, where she spends her time cooking balanced meals, gardening, homemaking, and mothering.

Traveling, camping, biking, skiing, and spending time in nature are some of her favorite ways to create meaningful connections, while getting a healthy dose of vitamin D. Spending time in the garden with her grandparents is a fond memory, as well as adventures with her father who taught her to love time in nature. She is no stranger to labor intense work, as she spent lots of time working in landscaping with her father who began his business the same year she was born. Her mother is her biggest cheerleader, and inspiration in helping others to heal. Laura specializes in family wellness, with a whole-person approach, creating wellness habits unique to the individual. She believes in the vital role of establishing wellness at home to promote a peaceful, thriving atmosphere.
